Weddings...

Weddings.  I love them.  I love attending them, being a part of them, seeing them from afar, hearing about them, remembering my own.  Weddings.  I've told my story before, but my wedding is where my love for photography began.  I met Erika McCauley and was amazed at how she was able to turn a private moment into a stunning image.  I've been asked numerous times over the past year, "do you do weddings?"  My answer has always been "nope."  Why?  Because there are no "do-overs" in weddings.  You have one moment to capture an image and then it's gone.  You are being asked to stop time for your clients and to help them document one of the most important days in their lives... forever.  That's a lot of pressure.  But... I love weddings.  So... I'm giving it a go.  I want to be intentional and careful about this transition.  I want to find clients that believe in me and my abilities to spend that day with them.  I don't want to jump at any and every chance I get because that may not be the best decision for YOU, the person getting married.  I am letting my integrity lead the way on this journey.  Erika (remember her... the MOST amazing wedding photographer I've ever known!) has graciously allowed me to tag along with her at a few of her weddings and I couldn't be more thankful.  She is a master, literally, and I count my blessings every day that she is willing to take the time to help me learn.  So.... weddings... I love them and here is my first attempt at capturing them through my lens.  I hope you like them and I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts!  Feel free to leave a comment!

Hi Leah! I stumbled upon your website and blog and love looking at your photos! I wish we lived closer to you so you could take Ava's pictures. I've been taking some of her photos myself because I haven't been impressed with what we've had done. I was wondering if you know of any good books for Photoshop. I have Elements 8. I can figure some stuff out, but it's still overwhelming! We hope you and Jeff are doing well!
